2nd Annual Extreme Precision Make-Over
Help Make A Dream Come True
WHAT:
It's really very simple. If you know someone who is in need of a new furnace but can't afford to pay for a replacement due to unfortunate circumstances, then tell us their story. We will choose a situation that we feel will most benefit from a new system and install a top of the line Trane Comfort System for them at no charge. This is up to a $12,000 value for someone who really needs a special gift!
WHY:
Bob and Leslie, the owners for Precision Plumbing & Heating Systems, have been very fortunate to have been raised in Traverse City and to start a successful business here in the place that they love. THis is a way for them to give back to a great community, especially as we face another cold Michigan winter. It's all to easy to be comfortable in our homes at Thanksgiving and not think about those who are facing serious illnesses or overwhelming financial challenges. This gives us a chance to make a little difference.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
The following information is needed, either by mailing the information to us, or by filling our on online form at the bottom of this page.
- Your name and telephone number
- The nominee's name, telephone number, home address, mailing address if different
- What type of system do they currently have? Forced air furnace? Boiler? Fuel Oil? Heat Pump? Wood Stove? Other, please explain.
- Type of home; ranch, premanufactured, 2-story, condo, mobile home, farmhouse, bi-level, stick built, log home, etc.
- General Age of the home.
- Explain in detail their current heating situation
- Most importantly, please explain in a couple paragraphs about the nominee's situation and why they should be chosen.

2007 Extreme Precision Make-Over Contest Winner
We chose Alison of Grand Traverse County, who was nominated by her sister who knew that Alison wouldn't ever expect something like this to happen to her and certainly wouldn't ask for it. She faces many difficulties in her life with great dignity and yet still finds the strength to help others. Alison's equipment was dangerously old and broken down as well as being very inefficient.
 
Alison's old furnace, held together by duct tape and housed in an area with crumbling wallboard and insulation, and her new Trane Furnace in a more sound structure. The safety of her new system can give her the peace of mind of knowing that she and her children have a new highly efficient system (picture at right) that will no longer pose a threat of fire or carbon monoxide leaks and will reduce her heating bills as well.
We also included a 10 year warranty so that she doesn't have to pay for any repairs to the system if any are needed during that time period. Her son has asthma, so we hope that the installation of the Clean-Effects will help to improve his breathing condition as well as a Heat Pump/Air Conditioner to keep the house a comfortable temperature year round.
We feel honored to know a little more about this extraordinary family and to be able to help them in this way.
